THE NEVERENDING TAG SALE at the Senior Center:

There’s mighty slim pickin’s on the Neverending Tag Sale table. If you are doing some spring cleaning and you find items that are in good, usable condition, why not donate them to the Senior Center? Believe it or not, all the nickels and dimes and dollars have added up over $350 to benefit the Senior Center! All items are available on a donation basis. YOU set the price: Just put what it is worth to you in the box…

New Hartford Community Connections, Inc. Formed to create the New Hartford Telephone Directory, this small, enthusiastic, hardworking committee sells the ads, plans and updates the text, creates and gathers the artwork, puts together the layout, proofreads, cross-checks, and works closely with Goulet Printery to produce and mail the directory every year. Then they take a good chunk of the proceeds and donate them to local nonprofits. To learn more, visit their website at nhcommunityconnections.org

New Hartford Lions Club The New Hartford Lions include 32 members, socially-conscious men and women of all ages. The Lions motto is “We Serve” and they have fun doing it! The Lions raise thousands of dollars for local charity: they support our town libraries and other non-profits, distribute emergency aid to area families and to the elderly, and help fund diabetes research. In 2007 New Hartford Lions presented 5 scholarships to high school graduates and expanded their contributions to include LARC, which serves developmentally disabled residents of Litchfield County. They also maintain a yellow “mailbox” at Marandino’s Market on Rte. 44 in New Hartford, where you can drop in used prescription eyeglasses. These will be recycled into new eyeglasses for the needy. To learn about membership or the Lions fundraising efforts, please visit the New Hartforld Lions website, or call President Lion Gerri at 860-673-7070.
