- New Hartford Senior Center activities: at Senior Center, Town Hall, 530 Main St., New Hartford. Activities: Line dancing at 9:30 a.m.; Fitness at 10:45 a.m. ($2.50 per person, per class, includes a fitness card which is stamped for every class attended; Bingo at 12:45 p.m.; Yoga at 4:00 p.m. For more information please call Jean Barnicoat at 860-379-3980 between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
- Main Street Market Place sponsored by the The Arts & Culture Commission of Torrington: from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Main Street in Torrington. Throughout July and August, downtown Torrington will close off Main Street and set up a European style open air market place. Fresh fruit and vegetable stands, artisan/exhibit booths, local restaurant vendors, classic cars and hot rods, street performers, and jazz musicians will line the streets.
- Thursday Night Gather With Friends at Passiflora: Samvahan Vibrational Healing-India’s Ancient Art of Healing with Karen Rowan: Samvahan is an Ayurvedic modality of vibrational healing that was first practiced over 3000 years ago in India. In the 1940’s an extraordinary master healer, Dr. Ram Bhosle, rediscovered Samvahan and it is now taught throughout the world. Karen Elizabeth Rowan is one of only two people in the United States that holds an Advanced Certification in Samvahan. Overheard by our photographer as she quietly circled the green in front of Berkshire Hall last night where a record crowd had turned out to enjoy golden oldies played by ‘Magic Moments.’ Another successful concert series at Brodie, thanks to Rec and the Peter Bakker Insurance Agency.
