Among the five inductees is long-time New Hartford resident Ken Krohner. Ken graduated from Regional # 7 in 1960, a member of only the second class to graduate from that newly-established high school. Prior to transferring to Regional # 7, Ken had attended Torrington High School. Ken excelled in sports and he played soccer, basketball and baseball while at Regional. He also tried out for the New York Giants.

After high school Ken attended Iowa State University and joined the U.S. Air Force. He returned to New Hartford 51 years ago and since then he has owned the Birch Lane Dairy and the Birch Lane Ice company. Ken is an active member of the New Hartford community and is currently a member of the WPCA and the BOC (Building Oversight Committee). Ken is married to Bobbie Krohner, also a 1960 graduate of Northwest Regional # 7, who had transferred to Regional from Torrington High School.
