The town’s Board of Finance, Board of Selectmen and Board of Ed met this past Tuesday to formally begin the discussion of consolidating the town’s elementary schools from three to two. “I do want to stress that we are here for discussion purposes only,” Board of Ed Chairman Bryan Keilty told everyone at the meeting. “There is no formal plan that’s been recommended by the Board of Education,” he emphasized. He said that over the years there have been different studies looking at regionalizing the local schools and consolidating them and that the current discussions were to get everyone’s feedback on where they wanted to go with the issue.
