Robbin Goodskey Returns To New Hartford Fire Village Tax Collector Position

Robbin Goodskey has been hired as the Tax Collector for the New Hartford Village Fire District again. Robbin filled that position for many years until she resigned and Lauraine Paquin was hired to take her place. Lauraine recently resigned from both her part-time Tax Collector position with the New Hartford Village Fire District and from her full-time Tax Collector position with the town of Brookfield, Connecticut, and Robbin has accepted the position again.

Robbin will hold office hours from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons at the New Hartford Volunteer Fire Department located on the corner of Greenwoods Road and Route 219. You may also call the New Hartford Village Fire District Tax Collector’s Office at 860-738-3407 and leave a message for Robbin and your call will be returned in a timely way, Robbin assured us.
From personal experience in the past with Robbin as the Tax Collector for the New Hartford Village Fire District, we can attest to Robbin’s friendly and efficient manner in that role. Even on those awkward occasions when a car registration depended on a release for fire taxes, Robbin never stopped smiling.

Motor Vehicles Assessment Appeals Session To Be Held Saturday, September 8

The New Hartford Board of Assessment Appeals will be holding an open session next Saturday, September 8, for Motor Vehicle appeals. Following is a copy of the Legal Notice which was published in the Hartford Courant on Tuesday, August 28:

The New Hartford Board of Assessment Appeals will be in open session on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for Motor Vehicle appeals only.
All persons claiming to be aggrieved by the doings of the Assessor of the Town of New Hartford with regard to Motor Vehicle Assessments on the 2011 Grand List may make their appeal to the Board of Assessment Appeals at this meeting. The motor vehicle in question must be present for review.
The meeting will take place on the first floor of New Hartford Town Hall, 530 Main Street, through the rear entrance.

South End Fire District Taxes Due By October 1

The South End Fire District’s real estate, personal property and motor vehicle taxes are due on September 1, payable by October 1 to avoid interest charges. The tax rate is 0.6 mil on the dollar. Following is a copy of the Legal Notice that was published in the Register Citizen on Sunday, August 26:
NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS SOUTH END FIRE DISTRICT NEW HARTFORD, CT
Notice is hereby given to all persons liable by law to pay property taxes to the South End Fire District, County of Litchfield, Town of New Hartford, State of Connecticut, that a tax of .6 mil on the dollar on the Grand List of October 1, 2011, laid by the Board of Commissioners on May 16, 2012 will become due and payable as follows: All real estate, personal property and motor vehicle taxes are due on September 1, 2012.
If not paid on or before October 1, 2012, the tax becomes delinquent and subject to interest of one and one half percent per month from September 1, 2012. Any fractional part of a month is considered to be equivalent to a whole month. MINIMUM INTEREST CHARGE is $2.00 per bill. Failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax or subsequent interest charged. All questions regarding exemptions or assessments should be directed to the Assessor’s office.
Checks may be mailed to the Tax Collector, South End Fire District, 21 West Road, New Hartford, CT 06057-3630.
CHECKS INCLUDING PAYMENT FOR THE TOWN OF NEW HARTFORD TAXES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AND WILL BE RETURNED.
Office hours are being held at the Tax Collector’s office in the South End Fire District’s firehouse located on the Antolini School access road. During the month of September, office hours will be Thursday evening 6:00 to 8:00, Saturday morning from 8:00 to 11:30 or by appointment. All other times are by appointment only.
