Not too hot, not too cold, the weather was just right yesterday evening as many New Hartford families packed up their kids and a picnic and made their way up to the Green in front of Berkshire Hall where the Ken Morr Band was to perform.
Once there, with the band playing in the background, the adults sat and ate and visited with their friends and neighbors.
And the kids? Just as soon as they could free themselves from their parents, they ran and joined their peers and proceeded to make full use of the play stations around the Green. Some of the childen hung out on the climbing frame, others swung on the swing sets and still more played a variety of ball games. And when it came time for a break, they had only to head over to the steps of Berkshire Hall where ice cream bars were being served, courtesy of the New Hartford Women’s Club.
A perfect scene of New Hartford life that will be repeated for three more concerts on the Berkshire Hall Green:
- Wednesday, July 18 to listen to Uncle Polly and the Family Jam;
- Wednesday, July 25 to listen to Magic Moments;
- and a special concert on Thursday, July 26 when the 102nd Army Band will be performing.
Plan to and head up to the Green at Brodie Park and enjoy being part of this summertime favorite of New Hartford residents.
The July Concert Series is sponsored by the Peter Bakker Insurance Agency, a longtime supporter of community programs in New Hartford.
Many Thanks: To Rec Director Dennis Minor and Rec Department Assistant Carole Korzynski for their incredible work in bringing us this concert series just as the Berkshire Camp program gets into full swing.
