Clean And Wastewater Study Group Meeting II: Discussion Of Current Operations Of The Town’s Water And Sewer Systems

While the WPCA continues on its course overseeing the town’s water and sewer operations and that of the new wastewater treatment plant while also attempting to balance the books, there has been a study group, the Clean and Waste Water Study Group that has been meeting to study the future of the town’s water and waste water systems which together form the New Hartford Water Company under the WPCA’s direction.

The Clean and Waste Water Study Group will be meeting for the fourth time later this afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Sessions Conference Room at Town Hall. The NewHartfordPlus crew has videoed each of the three meetings. The video of the first meeting, held on March 15, was posted on NewHartfordPlus on April 12. In that first meeting, the study group established the framework for their study of the future of the town’s water and waste water systems.

The second meeting was held on April 12, and we are posting it in this article; the third meeting, held on May 4, will be posted as soon as we are able to, as will also be the case with the June meeting being held today.

The topic of the second meeting was to discuss the current operations of the water and sewer systems in New Hartford. However, before the meeting officially started, Former First Selectman Bob LaGoy made a surprise visit to the study group to give them his input. Bob LaGoy, as long-time residents will remember, was First Selectman in the period between Hubie Callahan and Anita Baxter; Anita was First Selectwoman from the early ’80s through the late ’80s.

Following is the link to the video of the second meeting held on April 12. The video is being hosted on the NewHartfordPlus YouTube Channel.
