St. John’s in Pine Meadow will be hosting a ‘Community Thank You’ for all town firemen, ambulance, police, commissions and board volunteers tomorrow, Sunday, June 10th from 1:00 p.m.-4:00p.m. on the Pine Meadow Green. There will be food, music and games for children.

Invitations have gone out to all volunteers and their families. If you are a town volunteer and didn’t receive an invitation or forgot to RSVP, you are still welcome to attend. “There’s going to be plenty of food and the weather is supposed to be really nice,” Lou Martocchio, one of the organizers, told us during a phone call today.

All that’s needed to make it a perfect party is for you, our town volunteers, to attend. See you tomorrow on the Green in Pine Meadow for the party!

Many Thanks: to Lucie Martocchio for forwarding this information to us.

There will be literally THOUSANDS of books available for purchase, ranging form fiction, nonfiction, adult & juvenile (all ages). As always, books will be sorted into categories for browsing ease. Prices are in the range of 50 cents to $2 (except for some special books). Included in the sale will also be audio/visual materials, games, and puzzles, all chosen for quality.  A bake sale will also be part of the event.

The used book sale is organized by BookFriends of the Beekley Memorial Library and all proceeds from the sale will benefit the libary. For more information, you may call Judy 860-738-0266 (please leave a message) or the Library (860) 379-7235.
