Town Beach At West Hill Lake Is Open For The Season!

The Memorial Day weekend marks the traditional opening for the summer season of our town beach at West Hill Lake (aka Pond), Brodie Park. Following is information on our town beach at the lake:

Town Beach At West Hill Lake, Brodie Park

.
Following is just about everything you need to know about utilizing our town beach at West Hill Lake; this report is essentially the same as the one we posted every year; the information remains essentially the same, including the prices for the resident beach stickers – non-resident beach stickers have gone up somewhat.

Brodie Park Beach is staffed by lifeguards on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for the Memorial Day weekend from 10:00 a.m. to sunset. The lifeguards will then be on duty from 10:00 a.m. to sunset each weekend until school lets out. On the last day of school, the beach will be staffed by lifeguards starting at noon. The beach will then be open daily from 10 a.m. to sunset through Labor Day, with the final weekend at the beach being Labor Day weekend.

Beach stickers are required to access the waterfront area at Brodie for vehicles, as well as walk-in patrons. Passes are $60 for New Hartford residents, $25 for New Hartford resident seniors, $250 for non-residents and $150 for non-resident seniors. A car registration for the car you are purchasing a sticker for must be shown. If your registration does not reflect that you are a New Hartford property owner, proof of paid taxes will suffice. Walk-in passes will require an ID showing residency to purchase. Stickers are on sale at the Recreation office at Berkshire Hall, Brodie Park on weekdays. They may also be purchased from the waterfront staff when they are on duty.

Stanclift Cove Beach

.
Our other town beach is at Stanclift Cove on the Barkhamsted Reservoir; New Hartford shares that beach with Barkhamsted. Stanclift Cove Beach opens for the season on the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend each year.

We will publish updated information on that beach as soon as it becomes available.
