Dear Readers:
The following is excerpted from a May 2010 article. I am re-running it because as the caption for the wisteria photo in the same article said: “Tempus fugit” and the opportunity to plant a spring garden is a fleeting one: Seize it!”
I’ve promised myself today that, even with many meetings to write up and even more “hot irons in the fire,” and many more unread emails in my Inbox than I can possibly get through, I will make the time to transplant some lily of the valley to give to our neighbors and go and dig up some of the white periwinkle that I’ve seen growing on the side of a nearby road for as long as I can remember and finally plant it among my blue periwinkle at home. Because, as my husband Bob keeps reminding me:
“We’ve gotta stay playful at this!”
Excuse me while I seize the opportunity to plant a little of my spring garden and look forward to hugging my family when, God willing, they return home. I hope you too are making time to play, plant a spring garden and hug your loved ones,
Maria
I will, of course post any news on Steve Joseph when it becomes available.

The wisteria is blooming freely again on the large maple opposite the Moore's home, a reminder that "tempus fugit" and the opportunity to plant a spring garden is a fleeting one: Seize it! Photo: NewHartfordPlus archives
