We received the following press release this morning from Dr. Philip O’Reilly, Superintendent of New Hartford Public Schools, announcing the appointment of Michael Luzietti as the new principal for New Hartford Elementary and Bakerville Schools:
The Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Michael Luzietti as the Principal for Bakerville Consolidated and New Hartford Elementary Schools. Mr. Luzietti comes to us from Simsbury Public Schools as a Physical Education Teacher and as Building Coordinator in which he functions as an assistant to the building principal. During his tenure he has chaired numerous committees and has promoted collaboration between teachers and administrators. He also worked on a team that revised the existing math curriculum to better align with the new state standards.
Mr. Luzietti holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University and holds his 092 certification in educational leadership from the University of Connecticut Administrator Preparation Program (UCAPP). He holds additional certifications in a number of areas that will provide support and direction for the New Hartford Public Schools. Mr. Luzietti’s energy, wisdom, and passion for teaching will be a great asset to the Administrative team.
Michael Luzietti is currently teaching at the Tootin’ Hill Elementary School in Simsbury. He will begin working in New Hartford on July 1 at an annual salary of $103,000. Michael will be replacing Steve Nadeau who is retiring at the end of the current school year.
