The Board of Selectmen met for their Regular Meeting this past Tuesday, January 24, several hours after a Special Board of Selectmen meeting that consisted of site visits of two potential sites for additional sports fields. At their regular meeting the selectmen reviewed the site visits, under item # 3 of their agenda.
After a lengthy discussion of both sites, i.e. the field area behind the Antolini School and the Follert property on Old Steele Road, the selectmen voted to fund an environmental study of the Antolini School field. This study will be used by the Brodie Park South Study Group Committee to evaluate the site for a potential sports field for use by football, soccer and any other future sports that may need field space. Currently, Football has been holding its practices on the field area at Brodie Park South and that use has given rise to controversy between residents, the selectmen and several of the town’s commissions.
The video segment below is of item # 3, Discussion of Field Site Visits.
